The Committee on Diversity and Inclusion
"As a firm, Mayer Brown is committed to inclusion and to retaining and promoting highly qualified diverse attorneys. Our Committee for Diversity and Inclusion is the main engine through which we drive our efforts in these crucial areas."
- Linda Bushlow, Director of Attorney Recruitment & Development
Mayer Brown's diversity and inclusion efforts are directed by the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, which includes the Chairman and another member of the Firm's executive committee, our Managing Partner, the Co-Chairman of the Committee on Associates, and partners from all U.S. offices, including the partner responsible for recruiting in each office. The committee's objective is to design, implement, and monitor the success of our diversity initiatives. Committee members plan the Firm's extensive outreach programs, promote lawyer participation in diversity panels and symposia, oversee diversity association sponsorships and giving, as well as mentor minority associates, and implement measures for the recruitment, retention and promotion of minority candidates. The group meets annually in person, holds quarterly conference calls to discuss diversity issues and initiatives, and makes frank and thorough reports to our leaders in senior management. Sub-committees meet regularly and report back to the Committee at large during their calls.
